I often get the question “How did you get into car seat installation?” Well, it all started when I was pregnant with my first child way back in 2012. I purchased a capsule and had it installed by a local business. However when I arrived home I realised that the capsule was extremely unstable and was not installed correctly. So I pulled it apart, read the manual, watched some YouTube videos and installed it correctly myself, and from that moment I became obsessed with car seat safety!
Fast forward 5 years and I finally had everything together to turn my passion into a business. I completed my accreditation with WALGA, developed my logo’s and Facebook page and officially launched my car seat installation business in September of 2017 (initially called Fit Right, Sit Tight). My Grandfather worked in Small Business for many years and scoffed at my idea, saying it would never take off…well in the first year of business I installed and checked about 150 car seats, but now after 3.5 years I have done over 2,000! And he has humbly eaten his words 😉
These days I have 4 children ranging in age from 1 to 8 years, work 3 days a week at an office in Bunbury, and run my business at all hours of the day. It is exhausting juggling everything and most night’s I fall asleep on the couch at about 8pm, but I love every minute of helping and meeting local families and their precious kids. It brings me great pride to think of the thousands of kids I have helped keep safer in the car, and I am so grateful for the parents and caregivers who put their trust in me to protect their most precious cargo.
